The Time is Now
Mitapivat is a potential new therapy for the pain crises and anemia of sickle cell disease. There have been two studies for mitapivat so far — a smaller phase 1 study and a phase 2 study. Now the next part of RISE UP, a phase 3 study, is enrolling Warriors.
How Rise Up Works
Warriors who enroll in phase 3 will take either mitapivat or placebo twice a day, every day, for one year. After that, participants can choose to continue taking mitapivat, or switch from placebo to mitapivat, for up to four years (216 weeks) as part of the open-label extension period of the study.
